The Associazione Bambino Nefropatico (ABN) is an Italian non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children with chronic kidney disease and their families. Founded in 1978, the association is based in Milan and collaborates with the Centre for Paediatric Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation of the IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico Foundation.
ABN is committed to improving patients’ quality of life by providing psychological support, social assistance, and financial aid to help families cope with the challenges associated with the illness. The association also promotes scientific research, medical training, and public awareness of paediatric kidney disease.
The association funds specific projects, including the purchase of medical equipment and support for kidney transplant programmes.
